Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry: YA Book Review

Pushing the Limits crop
I could not put Pushing the Limits down! Noah and Echo are the type of edgy, messed-up characters that I love and I found myself rooting for them throughout their journey together.

But it was their school counsellor, Mrs Collins, who really shone though and reminded me of the importance of believing in others. The respect and trust she gave both Echo and Noah made a huge impact on their lives.

I can’t wait to read the sequels which explore the secondary characters – just as edgy and messed up as Noah and Echo.4 Star

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with “freaky” scars on her arms. Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.

But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.Extract from Goodreads.com

  1. This was the one I liked the most out of all the ones I’ve read. They kind of went downhill for me after this one. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

  2. Now this one is right up my street!! Just need to find the time to read it ……. Sigh!

  3. Katie McGarry is one of my favourite YA contemporary authors and Pushing The Limits is one of my fave books! I love love love Noah. <3 Before I started reading this series, I was never one for 'edgy' books but Pushing The Limits totally changed my mind. I'm sure you'll also enjoy the next books in the series- it's almost impossible not to! Great review! 😀

  4. I’m conflicted on whether to read this or not! For the longest time i didn’t even consider reading it but then i saw some of my favorite reviewers loved it and finally bought when it was on sale and now i just have to get around to reading it! =)

  5. To be honest, I always steered clear of this series, because the covers are just not that appealing … But I do love edgy characters & so far, I’ve only heard good things about this book, so I’ll probably buy the eBook at one point …

I, too, always have a book in my bag, even when I’m reading a really chunky one – you’ll never know if you might need it. 🙂
